Anna Laura Monroe, Orofino Resident, Dead
Orofino, Idaho, Aug. 15 - Anna Laura Monroe, 71, a resident of the Orofino area since 1903, died Friday of a heart attack suffered while she was outside feeding her chickens.
A native of Bavaria, Mrs. Monroe and her husband, the late Doc Monroe, moved to Orofino in 1903 and homesteaded a farm. He was killed in 1914 in an accident.
Mrs. Monroe had cared for Margaret Carroll, a blind woman, since 1927. She had also served as a housekeeper in other Orofino homes.
